Description
A compact, high-quality DAC built around the well-regarded ESS ES9023, designed for clean, natural audio reproduction in DIY and embedded audio systems.
The analogue stage and power supply have been carefully considered, using a Texas Instruments TPS7A4901 low-noise regulator to ensure a stable and quiet supply to the DAC. High-quality thin film resistors and C0G/NP0 capacitors are used in the output stage, with proper decoupling throughout the board.
Ideal partnered with a Raspberry Pi/ESP board outputting I2S.
Compared to many low-cost DAC modules, this design focuses on component quality and layout.
- ESS ES9023 DAC chip
- Low-noise TPS7A4901 voltage regulation
- Thin film resistors in the audio path
- C0G/NP0 capacitors on the output stage
- Proper decoupling across the board
- No SCK needed
- 5-10V input
Designed for hobbyist and DIY audio applications where sound quality and simplicity are both important.
